Production Manager / Production Team Leader
Well known nationally recognisable FMCG manufacturer is recruiting an Production Leader to supervise a team of multi skilled production operatives & technicians within a high volume, high turnover environment, working on a shift basis. As the Production Leader you would be expected to be flexible to meet business needs for an exceptional salary plus excellent benefits package.
The successful production leader will ideally be degree qualified in either engineering or manufacturing discipline, my client is ideally looking for High potential, mobile candidates who are looking for rapid career progression within a top 100 Company.
Skills required to succeed
Continuously improve the production line or plant
Improve team competencies
Contribute to quality improvements for the product and process
Take responsibility for safety of the machines/equipment/plant
To manage staff directly when required
Improve line OEE/ plant RFT in order to drive up productivity
Contribute to /conduct the cell staff appraisals
Identify training for self and others
Train and develop the engineering expertise of the team
Provide expertise on all aspects of equipment or plant
Support the Quality function to achieve the site KPIs
Participate in the choice and specification of new equipment
Support the continuous improvement program
Lead capital projects
Manage maintenance activities

In this demanding role, you will lead and develop a team of engineers and ensure that a proactive maintenance culture is achieved and sustained. You will provide specialist engineering support to your area as well as being responsible for the day-to-day performance. This is a varied role where the pace of the operation is demanding and your ability to prioritise will be essential.

The production leader in this role will play an active part in disciplinaries, appraisals and development, so candidates must have experience in a similar role, within an FMCG/FOOD/PHARMACEUTICAL/PACKAGING environment to be considered for the position.
The location of this role is commutable from Derby, Burton on Trent, Ashby de la Zouch, Coalville, Castle Donnington, Repton, Lichfield, Willington, Tamworth, Tutbury, Alrewas, Uttoxeter and Measham, amongst other areas of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire and Staffordshire.
