Title: Digital Hardware Engineer / Electronic Design Engineer / Board Level Design Engineer / FPGA / VHDL Engineer
One of the world leaders in the design and development of high performance computer products, who specialise in Telecommunications, military and aerospace markets, are looking to expand their current design team and bring in a new hardware design engineer.
As a Digital Design Engineer, you will have many responsibilities, where you will be involved in the design and development of single board computer products from definition through to introduction to manufacturing. As this is a more senior role, the Electronic Design engineer will be given additional team management responsibilities, both at the technical level and also in terms of personnel management.
In this position as Hardware design engineer, you should be degree qualified, with at least five years post graduate experience of digital hardware design, as well as being familiar with some or all of the following:
* 32/64 bit microprocessors, preferably Intel 80x86 architecture
* High performance comms peripheral devices, Gigabit Ethernet or SCSI
* Complex programmable logic devices and FPGAs
* Bus architectures, PCI-Express, RapidIO, CompactPCI or VME
* High speed logic (100MHz and faster)
* Advanced memory technologies, e.g. DDR or DDR II SDRAM
The ability to communicate effectively with others within the company at an engineering level is also an important additional attribute.
